Los amantes fervientes y los sabios austeros
adoran por igual, en su estación madura,
al orgullo de casa, la fuerza y la dulzura
de los gatos, tal ellos sedentarios, frioleros.

Amigos de la ciencia y la sensualidad,
al horror de tinieblas y al silencio se guían;
los fúnebres corceles del Erebo serían,
si pudieran al látigo ceder su majestad.

Adoptan cuando sueñan las nobles actitudes
de alargadas esfinges, que en vastas latitudes
solitarias se duermen en un sueño inmutable;

Mágicas chispas yerguen sus espaldas tranquilas,
y partículas de oro, como arena agradable,
estrellan vagamente sus místicas pupilas.

GATO NEGRO (EMMA POSADA)

Alma de duende en cuerpo de sombra.
Enjoyada la cabeza,el espinazo interrogante,
el paso de seda.
Las campanas desbordan sus doce vinos.
Luna en los tejados.
Brisa en las ramas deshojantes.
La pedreríade los ojos del gato se abrillanta.
Espera...La bruja de la escoba,
andrajosa y hambrienta no hade venir ahora;
se durmió de cansancio en el campanario del pueblo.
La desesperación en el lomo del gato forma un arco
y lanza la flecha de un maullido.
Un signo lúgubrese alarga en el silencio.
Gato negro, embriagado de luna.
Gato negro, bohemio de los tejados;
eco del infierno, silueta de un pecado.
Gato negro: seda, sombra y pedrería.

LA MUERTE DE LOS AMANTES (BAUDELEIRE)

Tendremos un lecho de suaves olores,
divanes profundos como sepulturas,
y en tallos y búcaros nos darán las flores
aromas extraños bajo albas mas puras.

Nuestros corazones, amando a porfía,
darán de su antorcha la llama postrera:
dos llamas gemelas son tu alma y la mia,
espejos que miran la eterna ribera.

Relampago único, centella preciosa,
una tarde mística de azul y de rosa,
el adios seremos, el llanto el sollozo.

Y después un ángel, abriendo las puertas,
los espejos turbios y las aguas muertas,
resicitaran temblando de gozo.

NO ONE IS THERE (SOPOR AETERNUS)

Now and then i'm scared, when i seem to forget
how sounds become words or even sentances...
no, i don't speak anymore and what could i say, since no-one is there and there is nothing to say... So, i prefer to lie in darkest silence alone...
listening to the lack of light, or sound,
or someone to talk to, for something to share...
but there is no hope and no-one is there.
No, no, no... not one living soul
and there is nothing (left) to say,
in darkness i lie all alone by myself,
sleeping most of the time to endure the pain.
I am not breathing a word, i haven't spoken for weeks
and yet the mistress inside me is (secretly) straining her ears.
but there is no-one, and it seems to me at times
that with every passing hour another word is leaving my mind...
I am the mistress of loneliness, my court is deserted but i do not care.
the presence of people is ugly and cold
and something i can neither watch nor bear.

listening to the lack of light, or sound,
or someone to talk to, for something to share...

all is oppressive, alles ist schwer,
